Marie Martin is a French singer/musician who uses her personal experiences , travels to New York, London, Paris and her native Brittany and spanish roots as her main inspirations. Between modernity and nostalgia, between Soul and Jazz.
At 19, Martin moved to Paris and studied at "l'IACP" Jazz school.
The following year, she started accompanying artists as a back up singer and violonist and performed in legendary venues and clubs as " Le Duc des Lombards", "La Scene Bastille", "Le Reservoir", l'Europeen, le Club Med World, etc.
In 2001, she signed with Warner Music for a House-Funk music project and began working as a reference vocalist and back up singer with majors as EMI, SONY, Virgin, or even TV shows as Star Academy (French Version of American Idol).
Marie has also had the opportunity to lend her voice and write a song to several movies as "36 Quai des Orfevres" (starring Gerard Depardieu), "Prete-moi ta main" (starring Charlotte Gainsbourg).
Martin moved to London in 2004 and to New York in 2007. Since moving to NY, she has performed and recorded with some of the best musicians and artists in the jazz/Soul/Hip hop scene in NY including les Nubians, "Bluenefertiti Paris at night" French cabaret, The Real Live Show, and Pursuance among many others.
She sings regularly in some of New York's finest venues and festivals as Central Park Festival Summerstage , Prospect Park Festival " Celebrate Brooklyn ", SOB's, Zinc Bar, Nublu ...
Marie started a new project in March 2010 called " SoNuvo ".

A great mix of Brazilian, jazz, and soul music.
They played mostly in NYC and France.
Marie is now focusing on her solo career while still performing with eclectic music projects in NYC.
